The no. 41 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by Golden State Warriors Eric Paschall had excelled, exceeding all expectations after getting an opportunity die to injury to many starters. However, only a few minutes before the start of the game against Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, he was ruled out of the clash.

Although it was reported that he carried an injured in the Friday night’s game against Minnesota Timberwolves, his non-involvement in the game against Thunder was not known untill just over half-an hour before the start of the game.

At the end of the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr, when asked about the rookie, said even he did not know about the injury untill 45 minutes before the start of the game.

“Eric had a contusion in his thigh or hip, but he didn’t say anything,” he was quoted as saying by Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “ We didn’t have a meeting this morning. We let the guys sleep in. So, we didn’t know anything.”

“When I met you (the reporters) before the game, I had no idea. Maybe 45 minutes before the game, he came in for treatment and said it was hurting him. The trainers couldn’t get him loosened up. They ruled him out 45 minutes before the game started.”

In absence of Paschall among many others, The Warriors suffered their eight loss after 10 matches.

They can still take out a few positives from their last two games which came to a close conclusion. The biggest positive for them would be the performance of D’Angelo Russell, who now has 84 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds combined in the last two games. He finished with 30 points, 7 assists and three rebounds against Oklahoma having played 34 minutes.

Warriors might now need to find a way to win without their star players, after Stephen Curry also seemingly ruled out for season, apart from Klay Thompson. Warriors still wait in the likes of Draymond Green, Kevon Looney to make a return.

Talking about their record so far in the season, Kerr was stern in voicing the need to win more games.

“We should not just accept our fate,” he said. “We shouldn’t feel sorry for ourselves and say, well, we have all these injuries or we’re playing two-way guys and going for the lottery and all this crap. No. We should win some games.”
