Stunned Jessica Korda Has 3-Word Reaction to Tennis Icon Andy Murray’s Historic Night at the Australian Open

The LPGA Tour has many well-known players among its ranks. Among them are the Korda sisters. Although Nelly Korda is in the limelight far too often, Jessica is not far behind her. The two have been playing together on the tour for a while now, celebrating each other’s victories. While Nelly is competing in the Tour Championship this week, Jessica is at home, and before the LPGA Tour’s first event of the year begins, the golf pro is watching tennis. She recently even paid respect to tennis star Andy Murray, who just took home a win at the Australian open.

Korda has been playing professional golf for over a decade now. She turned pro in 2010 and had her rookie year on the LPGA Tour in 2011. She currently ranks 18 in the women’s world rankings.

Recently, the elder Korda sister took to Instagram to pay tribute to Andy Murray. “Unreal.. go off @andymurray,” she wrote on her Instagram story. What inspired this post was Murray’s incredible victory just hours ago against Thanasi Kokkinakis.

The two tennis stars battled it out for five sets in a nearly six-hour match. Despite having lost the first two consecutively, Andy Murray refused to give up hope. He dug deep and went on to narrowly clinch the third set to keep the match going.

His comeback boosted his morale significantly, and it showed in his game. He won the next two sets, grabbing victory right out of the hands of Kokkinakis. The three-time grand slam winner will now face off against his rival, Roberto Bautista Agut, on Saturday. Korda might just watch that too, alongside the TOC, and cheer him on.

Many wonder why Jessica is sitting at home while Nelly is on the course at Lake Nona. Jessica saw her last win on the tour in 2021 at the Tournament of Champions presented by IOA. Since then, she has not won on the LPGA Tour, including the entire 2022 season which for her began with a rocky start for her after a withdrawal. Thus, she was not able to qualify for the Tour of Champions this year, which sees the previous year’s champions compete.

The next event on the LPGA Tour is the Honda LPGA Thailand in the last week of February. While Korda will likely make an appearance there, it is also possible that she may choose to play on the LET (Ladies European Tour) in the meantime.
