Athletes obviously lead lives outside of their sport too. And often during matches, their personal and professional lives merge, with their loved ones religiously supporting them from up close. When it comes to golf, many PGA Tour stars are known to be avid family men. Rickie Fowler is among them too. A devoted husband and father, Fowler recently struck a chord in the hearts of golf fans with a wholesome family moment on the course.

Fowler tied the knot with fitness model, Allison Stokke in 2019. Two years later, in November 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named, Maya Fowler, into the world. And the golf pro once even hinted that he hoped she would follow his footsteps into the sport.

Rickie Fowler: a family man first and golfer second

The five-time PGA Tour winner is currently playing at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida. And of course, his family is there to support him. In a recent viral Twitter post, during practice at the course, his daughter, watched from close behind as Fowler drove shots into oblivion. But she soon grew tired of watching, and she waddled up to him and demanded to be carried!

Everyone watched in awe as Fowler paused his practice and picked up his 1-year-old. He then ran and handed her over to Stokke and promised to “be back soon.”  That small instance was enough to melt the hearts of the entire golf world. They couldn’t help but appreciate how cute the father-daughter duo was.

Fans also went on to tell Fowler to cherish the moments because they were fleeting. The experienced fathers in the crowd explained that children grow up in just a blink of an eye and that they should enjoy these moments, although they may seem irritating. Of course, Fowler certainly enjoys them!

Some fans were also concerned about baby Maya’s safety on the course. After all, it would only take a second for something unfortunate to happen. They stated that she could have been seriously injured and that one should always be more careful. Perhaps that’s something the PGA Tour star thought of as well and hence handed Maya off to her mother, who was at a distance.
