Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer in the world. However, while he has achieved plenty today, he had to give up a lot for the same initially. Revealed in the story released through the HBO documentary based on the life of the GOAT, here’s how Tiger once broke up with his girlfriend.

‘Tiger’ is a two-part documentary that HBO released last year, focusing on the behind-the-scenes of Woods’ life. The documentary covered the rise, fall, and the ultimate comeback of the GOAT.

Notably, it included some never-seen-before footage of the golfer, exclusive interviews with his former caddie, Steve Williams, his first love, Dina Parr, and the golf legend Sir Nick Faldo, among the others.

Did Tiger Woods actually breakup with his girlfriend over a letter? 

According to the documentary, Dina Parr, née Gravell, was Woods’ first true love. And it was she who revealed that the GOAT broke up with her through a letter. 

Parr explained that she and Tiger were in a three-year-long relationship, but he decided to split ways eventually and did so through a letter. According to Gina, his parents wanted him to be a golf machine and didn’t want any distractions in his life. Although she respected his parents for creating such a genius golfer, she blamed them for not preparing him for life.

She added, “I felt like their (Woods’ parents) plans were creating this robot. There was all this preparation for golf, which is great. You’re going to be a great golfer. But he had no life skills. He had not been prepared for life.”

Why did the GOAT end his relationship with his true love? 

One of Woods’ family friends, Joe Grohman, detailed what happened at the Woods residence that forced Tiger to break up with his longtime girlfriend. 

He explained that Tiger once spent time with Parr without his parents’ knowledge. And when they found out about it, they were furious and demanded he ends the relationship. Since young Woods wanted to be a successful golfer, he had no choice but to bid goodbye to Parr.

Notably, according to a close source, the GOAT has opted not to watch the documentary. The source said he didn’t want to watch unpleasant memories, including the scandal that broke his marriage.
