Tiger Woods made his Masters debut in 1995 and has pretty much played every edition since. He’s a household name at Augusta National, and fans were nothing but delighted to see him make his comeback at a venue where he is immensely loved. 

Woods had a good start to the 2022 Masters and capitalized on the fan support. However, he struggled to close out and finished outside the Top 40 following Sunday’s final round. The 46-year-old former champion carded a brutal +13 over four rounds, a score that placed him 47th on the leaderboard.

A 47th place finish is usually not lucrative, but given that this is the Masters, qualifying for the weekend is enough to guarantee you handsome prize money. Tiger Woods received a payout of $43,500 for his efforts, and there were only five other players who finished behind him on the leaderboard. 

Overall, Tiger Woods had a good outing on his comeback, but given his competitive mindset, the 15-time major winner would have hoped for a better result. A solo 47 marks his worst ever finish at Augusta National. 

The Big Cat would not be taking it hard on himself over this. It is a win-win situation for him and it makes little sense to think why it would be otherwise. Woods has already announced his next tournament, and we can do nothing but wait to watch him in live-action once again!
