The 25-year-old has already made a name for herself on the LPGA Tour, securing 18 titles alongside two Major Championships. Ko had her rookie year in 2014 but made an immediate impression when she won the 2015 Evian Championship next year. She followed it with another major victory at the ANA Inspiration in 2016.

In total, Ko has churned up more than $14 million in prize money; $14,695,357 to be precise, at the LPGA Tour. Impressively, she has followed up her career wins with more than a hundred top-10 finishes.
Ko’s amazing chance to conquer more at the CME Group Tour Championship
However, Ko could further add to her remarkable tally with extraordinary prize money at the CME Group Tour Championship. The tournament is hosting the highest purse for a non-major event at $7 million.
Furthermore, it breaks all records for the highest-ever winner’s share for an LPGA event. The winner of the CME Group Tour Championship will be crowned the Race to the CME Globe trophy, alongside an eye-watering $2 million.

To put that figure in perspective, the prize money would equal around 1/7th of Ko’s total career earnings on the Tour. Interestingly, the talk around the purse was quite boisterous before the commencement of the event. But on her take on the essence of such large prize money, Ko was calm and unfettered.
She focused on the main objective of winning the tournament rather than getting anxious regarding the sum available. “If you are able to win and be the one holding the trophy at the end of the week, it’s kind of like an extra bonus,” Ko said before the event.

As it stands, she remains on top of her peers at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The competition heads to its last round on Sunday.
