‘I Love Tiger’: When John Daly Accepted Tiger Woods’ Apology After Their Heated Misunderstanding

John Daly once used a golf cart during a tournament at Bethpage Black. Tiger Woods had a sharp opinion on the same. However, Daly’s condition was later revealed to him which drastically changed his opinions.

John Daly is one of the few golfers who never failed to grab the public eye. He is mostly in the news for a multitude of reasons, ranging from his personal to professional life.

John Daly ponders over his old beef with Woods

Long John is one of the most confrontational golfer there is. The pro golfer was once stuck in an awkward situation with Tiger Woods.

Woods had criticized his use of a golf cart during the tournament at Bethpage Black and compared it to the time he did not use it at the 2008 US Open at Torrey when his leg was apparently broken. What Woods did not realize, as it turns out, is that Daly actually needed it due to his physical ailments.

Daly talked about the situation a few months back. He said, “Yeah, but he didn’t know the facts because the media, ‘the media’ (sarcastic gesture) didn’t tell him I had diabetes and I had bad two knees and my hips out and all this stuff.”

When Woods realized his mistake, he apologized to Daly at for the recent PNC Championship. John acknowledged the same. He added, “He apologized to me at dinner the other night. I mean, he’s fine. I love Tiger.”

John Daly and his son, John Daly II competed with Tiger and his son, Charlie Woods at the 2021 PNC Championship. Team Daly won, and Team Woods were the runner-ups.

The pair finished the event with an overall score of 27 under-par. Their team won the event with a final round of 15-under-par, 57.

Whereas Team Woods ended the tournament with an overall score of 25 under par.
