A few years back, Donald Trump was in the news for an unexpected reason. He was fighting for the national flag with authorities and it became a piece of big news back then.

In 2014, business giant Donald Trump disputed with state officials over the American flag flying at his Southland Trump National Golf Course. According to CBS Los Angeles reports, Trump did not take the proper legal steps then. He wanted to keep the flag flying but did not follow his rules. Therefore, the state officials demanded that it be taken down back then.

In that year, The California Coastal Commission made some claims against Trump. According to them, Trump did not pay the required fees of $10,000 for having a flag flying at his course. On top of that, he also did not have coastal permits to fly the flag at that location.

Trump had a telephonic interview with CBS2/KCAL9’s Brittney Hopper. During that interview, he said the flag was there for many years at his golf course. He had been waiting for final approval. Trump also said authorities had difficulty giving permission for it on his Southland Trump National Golf Course.
