The 15-time major championship winner ‘Pop’ talked about the valuable advice he gave to Woods at the age of four. He spoke about the same back in 1997 on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Moreover, Earl Woods spoke about how he once hid the former World Number One’s golf clubs and told that he had to find them on his own. This valuable lesson might have laid the foundation of Tiger’s career. His fans are in for a treat.

Earl said, “So I said, I’m not going to spend the rest of my life, finding his clubs and carrying them. So I told my wife don’t say anything. And I hid his club, underneath the seat. And when he came to me, and he said,  Did you get my clubs daddy?  I said, look, not my job.”

He added, “Whose clubs, are they? mine. Whose responsibility is it to have them? mine I said, Well, where are they? I don’t know.” Moreover, Woods’ father’s words prove how adamant he was to make the World Golf Hall of Fame member a better person. At the same time, it also depicts how the 82-time PGA Tour winner’s father wanted him to be independent at the mere age of four. Probably this valuable life lesson stayed with Tiger Woods for the rest of his life and aided his professional career.

Not to forget, 1997 was the same year Woods won his first major championship event. He won the 1997 Masters with an overall score of 18-under-par. As a result, he created history by winning the major championship by a whopping 12-stroke margin.

Woods tried his best to win the 2006 Masters for his father

The golf legend put in his heart and soul into winning the 2006 Masters as it was probably the last time his father saw him play. Tiger ended the major championship event with an overall score of four-under-par. As a result, he had to settle for a tied third position finish on the leaderboard, Moreover, Woods carded a final round of two-under-par, 70, and came up three shots back from the winner, Phil Mickelson, who ended the tournament with an overall score of seven-under-par. Unfortunately, Earl passed away in May 2006.
