Making her mark as a golf influencer, Paige Spiranac, is evidently familiar with the taste of stardom. Having a colossal fanbase, she is today the most followed entity on social media. The 29-year-old uses her handles to put up self-created engaging golf content. However, many a time, happenings force her to step up and address the unpleasant aspect of the game. A glimpse of it was visible in the year 2017.

Walking down memory lane, in 2017, the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) made headlines for its ruling on the dress code of players. As per the ruling, it banned players from wearing leggings and short skirts on the course. The decision not only sparked controversy but also opened the doors of criticism from players including Spiranac.

A former pro golfer herself, Spiranac is known for her strong views and opinions. That time was no different. Writing for a renowned magazine, she expressed her viewpoint by saying, “If professionalism in golf equals athleticism, then athleticism should be promoted and showcased, and that means allowing the clothes that promote it.”

Even though 2017, Spiranac still catered to a colossal fanbase. However, with good also comes bad. While the majority of her fans were appreciators of her content, some of them chipped in as critics of her clothing. However, holding a rather strong personality, the golf beauty always rose up from the hate and successfully managed to stand up against clothing hatred.

She said, “By labelling women as looking ‘unprofessional’ when showing cleavage or shorts worn under a skirt, the LPGA is perpetrating the outdated stereotypes about the connection between what a woman wears and her morals.

This wasn’t all. Going further, she ended by asserting, “(LPGA) is insinuating that women do not have control over the perception of their bodies, but rather that they must bend to the every whim of the male gaze.”

This wasn’t the only time that Spiranac expressed her opinions on clothing hatred. Scrolling through her social media handles, one can find ample examples of the Colorado native condemning such kind of hate.
