Tiger Woods planned to play in all the major tournaments after surviving a massive car accident last year. However, nothing has been going accordingly as he had to withdraw from the 2022 PGA Championship due to health issues. A month and a Major later, the golf legend still hasn’t returned, making us wonder whether he would make a comeback after all?

“I am looking for St. Andrews,” Woods had said after the Masters Tournament in an interview. The Old Course of St. Andrews Links is hosting the 150th Open Championship this year. Since it is his favorite course, the 15-time major winner expressed his desire to play there.

He finished all rounds at the Augusta National, which gave him and the audience hope that he could play in every Major. However, his injuries from the accident and the weather at the Southern Hills took a toll on him. And he had to withdraw from the PGA Championship because of this.

Following the second Major, Woods opted not to attend the U.S. Open at the Brookline Country Club. And the question still remains whether he will make a comeback at the Open Championship as hoped from July 14th. Or through some other events?

Tiger Woods will return to competition earlier than expected!

“We are absolutely thrilled he has committed to play once again in the tournament,” the statement of the JPMcManus Pro-Am officials read. His presence at Adare Manor will undoubtedly bring huge excitement to the thousands of spectators,” the statement further read. “And we are very grateful to him for giving up his free time to be with us.”

Bizarre Superstitions That Tiger Woods Follows on the Golf Course

Notably, Woods shared the same through a tweet that revealed he will not be playing at the U.S. Open. “I do hope and plan to be ready to play in Ireland at @JPProAm and at @TheOpen next month,” he wrote“I’m excited to get back out there soon!”

The JP McManus Pro-Am is a 2-day PGA Tour tournament that begins on July 4 at the Adare Manor in Ireland. Woods had won the event once in 2000 at the Limerick Golf Club. Additionally, this year will be the fourth time the golf legend would be playing in the tournament.

The entire golf world missed Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open. However, he will be playing in the Pro-Am and the Open Championship next month, and it is great news for his fans for two reasons. One, they will get to see him play for two weeks in a row. Two, he will be perfectly healthy by then.
