Phil Mickelson is one of the most entertaining golfers on the PGA Tour. Recently, he won the Players Impact Program of the PGA Tour for bringing popularity to the game through social media and other stuff. Furthermore, he even won the 2021 PGA Championship and became the oldest player to lift a major trophy. 

Phil is also one of the most active players on social media. He replies and interacts with his fans on Twitter consistently. Hence, this is one of the reasons for his triumph in the PIP Fund.

Phil is also very much famous for trolling or making fun of his friends, and that’s what he did recently on Twitter.

Phil Mickelson subtly trolls NFL star, Aaron Rodgers

The legendary NFL star Aaron Rodgers recently appeared on the ManningCast. There Aaron was wearing his The Masters quarter-zip in honor of the Mannings. And Phil Mickelson saw this and subtly trolled the NFL star. This was a friendly banter as Phil and Aaron are buddies and have even played golf together. They have competed against each other in The Match, but sadly Phil lost the charity event.

Phil Mickelson made a tweet saying, “Eli Manning and Peyton. Careful about playing against Aaron Rodgers. He is a bit of a ringer. Learned the hard way.” Furthermore, he took this to another level by saying, “cute swings don’t travel.”

Aaron Rodgers is a decent golfer, and he defeated Tom Brady and Phil at the recent The Match along with Bryson DeChambeau. Rodgers and DeChambeau won the event with a score of 3 and 2, and hence, Phil mentioned in the tweet that he learned it the hard way.

Moreover, Phil called Aaron a ringer, which means a player with a very low handicap who doesn’t tell or disclose their handicap. Most of the time, it does not appear that their handicap would be low. Hence, he advised Eil Manning and Peyton to be careful while playing against the NFL star Aaron Rodgers.

These kinds of tweets and interactions have helped Phil win $8 million from the $40 million PIP Fund. Hence, he is now eyeing the same prize for the 2022 season as well, which will have a bigger purse with $50 million in total.
