After multiple tournaments in Las Vegas, the PGA Tour will be conducting the CJ Cup at The Summit Club. This will be one of the last events to happen in Las Vegas for a while. Fans are excited to see what players like Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa will have to offer. Morikawa, however, might have a slight advantage over the others.

The World No. 3, who last played the Tour Championship, will be starting his current season on a positive note. He will look to secure his sixth PGA Tour title, this time at his home course. Morikawa is a Vegas resident and is also a member of the Summit Club with its logo on his staff bag. If anyone has an advantage, it would be Morikawa.

Collin Morikawa speaks about playing from The Summit Club

While Morikawa never seems to have played a tournament at home, he is definitely looking forward to doing so. “It’s nice to sleep in my own bed and to be at Summit,” he said, according to Golfweek. “It’s kind of unique. I’m not sure how I’m really going to go into this week just mentally about that, but I have to remember that this is still a tournament”.

“I’m comfortable with a lot of tee shots, I’m comfortable with the approaches, I know where the greens break, I know where to miss the shots, so hopefully we can execute the shots this week”.

This time, though, Morikawa will not have to try to ‘figure out’ the course before he plays.
