Tiger Woods unquestionably has a strong hold on the golf world. Ever since his unfortunate accident in February 2021, he has been off the course on the PGA Tour, and fans have been saddened. But last week, this all changed when the former world No. 1 announced that he would be on the course at this week’s Tour event. With that, fans now wonder if he will be playing continuous events on the Tour this year. We’re here to help explore that.

The possible schedule of Tiger Woods in 2023

TWLegion in November last year tweeted Woods’ potential schedule for the 2023 season. The list included nine matches that the golf legend was predicted to play from December 2022 to the end of 2023. The 15-time major winner competed in 2 of the 3 December events last year; those were the PNC Championship and The Match.

He withdrew from the third tournament, i.e., the Hero World Challenge, due to a severe case of plantar fasciitis. But since the beginning of 2023, the golf pro has laid low. That was until he recently announced his return to the PGA Tour. And surprise, surprise! It was in line with the prediction list.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner revealed last week that he would finally be playing on the PGA Tour this year, in the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera. As per the “prediction,” he will play in only five other events this year: the four major championships, i.e., the Masters, the PGA Championship, the US Open, The Open Championship; and The Players Championship in March, “if he’s feeling it,” that is.

Woods’ participation all depends on the Genesis Invitational

The list is in line with what Woods himself has reiterated to the press quite often over the past year. He claimed that the majors were his prime focus. So, following the legend’s participation in this week’s Tour event, the next time fans will almost certainly see him on the course is at the Masters early in April. And if all goes well, hopefully also at the Players Championship.

But all this depends on the golf champion’s “good health.” Fans won’t know for sure what shape he’s in or how he’s feeling until he hits it off the tee this week. After all, he’s previously announced his return only to back out at the last minute. So all that fans can truly do is wait and see.
