The eight-episode Netflix series “Full Swing,” which narrates the story of a significant year in professional golf, premieres on February 15. Golf Digest has decided to give a sneak peek to all golf lovers. The fans have been waiting for the series, but they won’t have to wait anymore. But what is the series all about, and what did the golf lovers think of it?

The makers might have thought that these docuseries might get a bit mundane, but thanks to the existence of LIV, it won’t be the case. Packed with many different elements, you can watch the golf world’s ins and outs. There is no such expectation in makers that the series will do tremendously and transform the game of golf. However, as Masters is only a few months away, this series might be the anchor for golf enthusiasts. It can become a sensation, and time will tell.

In August last year, Shane Ryan of Golf Digest met a small group from “Full Swing” at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. They were in Memphis to cover the rookie-of-the-year competition. Patrick Rodgers and Mary Stamm-Clarke, a production assistant for Vox Media Studios, which is filming “Full Swing” for Netflix, were tasked with pursuing Theegala on the front nine.

Many might not know, but Full Swing was one of many potential titles for the series. “The Long Game” was one of the potential titles that Netflix rejected for the program. However, the rejected title made sense thematically. The way the crew operates—they work long hours until the lightning hits. The makers, however, might have enough material for a plot, an episode, or perhaps a whole TV season if lightning struck frequently enough during the year.

Did fans like the sneak peek?

Overall, fans did not seem very intrigued by the sneak peek, although the reactions had mixed emotions. Some users took a jab at Koepka and said, “Who is the guy with the bleached hair?” and “I forgot Brooks Koepka played golf,” followed by, “We don’t care about brooks, sadly.” However, some golf lovers entirely dismissed the concept of the docuseries. One said, “Not sure we really care that much about what they eat for breakfast or wear to the gym …just say’n!” Whereas some felt, “This is gonna be sick.”

Some users pointed out the reason behind the docuseries and its potential results. They said, “Every sport wants its own Drive to survive now huh.” and “Bring back Big Break!!! With social media now, it would be huge,” respectively. In the Instagram post, Scheffler’s picture was the funniest, and a few users pointed it out and said, “They did Scheff dirty” and “Why they doin’ Scottie like that? C’mon, man!!” However, they also suggested why it could be a mundane series, “All the comments about Brooks. LIV golf runs it. Nobody wants to watch Rahm, Morikawa, Rory, etc. boring.”

We will have to wait till the 15th to see how golf lovers respond to the docuseries.
