‘We Receive a Ton of Money’: Phil Mickelson Reveals Strong Reasons Why He’s ‘High’ on LIV Golf

Phil Mickelson has been the face of LIV Golf even before the commencement of the Tour. Lefty was one of the golfers to show support for the Saudi-backed Golf Tour. Ahead of the third event in Bedminster, Mickelson shares details on how why he supports LIV Golf and why the lucrative Tour is going to be the future of Golf.

The third event of LIV Golf is underway at the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster. Phil Mickelson who has been a participant of the Tour since the inaugural event in London answered some questions during the press conference at Bedminster.

According to reporters during the press conference, since the first two events, LIV Golf has managed to gather a positive reputation in recent days. Mickelson was asked about the recent growth of the Saudi-backed Golf Tour, to which the Lefty had a very pride-filled response.

Phil Mickelson believes LIV Golf is the future

When asked to share his thoughts on the growth, Mickelson had a lot to say. He first indicated at adaptability, quick adjustments, and instant changing of things as key factors in the success of the Tour.

Phil Mickelson then said, “The reason why I’m so high on LIV Golf is it addresses the two areas that for the 30 years I’ve played the TOUR, they have tried and struggled, meaning LIV has a chance to bring professional golf throughout the world.

Mickelson further added, “Players here, when they sign up, we receive a ton of money, and we give up our schedule and we commit to wherever they hold the events we’re going to go and we’re going to be there, and then they have the ability to move professional golf throughout the world. I think that’s a really big thing as we try to grow the game of golf throughout the world.”

Though, unclear about LIV Golf’s impact on the US audience, Mickelson believes that the lucrative Tour has made an impact globally. The 52-year-old also considers that the Saudi-backed Tour can influence the young generation of golf fans.

Mickelson ended by saying how the team aspect of LIV Golf has been a great initiative. Each player is identified as a team player rather than an individual, which can be very beneficial for the lucrative Tour.
