Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain will be loaned to Serie A club AC Milan from Juventus. Higuain was part of a 3-player transfer deal between AC Milan and Juventus. As he leaves the San Siro, defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia Caldara will take his place.

After several rounds of talks, the two Serie A giants came to an agreement with regard to the 3 players.

In a way, this move will be beneficial for Higuain, especially since his spot is under threat by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 30-year old will spend the next season on loan with Milan for a sum of €18 million (£16m/$21m).

It is also likely that he could join the Rossoneri on a permanent basis. But only if they take up a further purchase option worth €36m (£32m/$42m).

Higuain will be travelling to Milan to undergo medical checks on Friday before he joins the team.

Meanwhile, after a solitary season at Milan, Leonardo Bonucci reunites with his old club. The move could benefit him too, as he had struggled to perform well at San Siro.

On the other hand, Caldara had an even shorter stay, namely a single month with Juve. He moved to the Bianconeri from Atalanta at the start of the transfer window

The move between the 3 players and 2 teams will be a straight swap. Both Bonucci and Caldara are valued by their current clubs at €35m (£31m/$40.8m).

Earlier, Juventus insisted on a buyback clause for the 24-year-old Caldara. However, they later dropped the demand as talks progressed with Milan. The centre back has made and appearance for Juve at the 2018 International Champions Cup on 2 occasions

Now, the two will now fly back from the U.S. in order to complete their respective moves. They will be completed ahead of the first match of the Serie A season on August 18.
