“Group of Albatrosses” – Nick Kyrgios Strikes Back at Novak Djokovic’s Recent Coronavirus Comments

Nick Kyrgios and his displeasure with Novak Djokovic over the Adria Tour will not be ending anytime soon. Earlier, the Australian had bashed the Serbian over the Adria Tour. Recently Djokovic replied to all the criticism he was facing and said some strong words which triggered Kyrgios yet again.
Earlier Kyrgios slammed the event and its participants for being irresponsible. The Adria Tour didn’t have the basic precautions needed to prevent the spread of the virus. Later, four players including Djokovic tested positive for the virus. So for this Djokovic was heavily criticized.

“Scary that people take zero ownership” – Nick Kyrgios
Djokovic recently in an interview with the New York Times said that he doesn’t feel guilty for organizing the event. And he feels he is being blamed for all the mess.
“I don’t think I’ve done anything bad, to be honest. I do feel sorry for people that were infected. Do I feel guilty for anybody that was infected from that point onward in Serbia, Croatia, and the region? Of course not. It’s like a witch hunt, to be honest. How can you blame one individual for everything?” Djokovic said

Kyrgios replied to the comment and posted his remarks on an Instagram Story. He called the participants of the Adria Tour a group of ‘Albatrosses’. And slammed them because nobody took responsibility for the debacle.

It seems that Kyrgios won’t leave the Adria Tour matter just yet. Kyrgios has been very vocal about the pandemic. And earlier called the USTA and ATP ‘selfish’ for restarting the season, even when the pandemic hasn’t eased.

Kyrgios withdrew from the US Open because with so much going on around the world, he doesn’t feel it is the right decision to play now. He further cast doubts over his French Open plans, citing he might not play in 2020.
