Experienced Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said that MS Dhoni has already played his last game for India during the ICC World Cup 2019. He also added that the former captain will not play for India again. His comments came right after the BCCI dropped him from the annual central contracts list on Thursday (January 16).

Dhoni did not play a single game for India after the 2019 World Cup semi-final loss to New Zealand on July 10. Moreover, the veteran off-spinner doesn’t see him returning to play international cricket again.

A BCCI official said, “Let me clarify that one of the top-most BCCI office-bearers spoke to MS and told him about how they are going about in the central contracts. He was clearly told that since he hasn’t played any game in the said period (September 2019 till date), he cannot be included for the time being.”

The flag-bearer for Indian cricket, as well as, the World Cup-winning captain, Dhoni was in Category A last season. As many as 27 players have received the contract list which is divided into four categories. Some new faces also received the contract, including Navdeep Saini, Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sunder and Deepak Chahar.
