Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was part of the Chennai Super Kings’ squad which won the IPL title a few days back. This was his fourth IPL win after three with the Mumbai Indians. Harbhajan is now tied with Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu for most title wins in the IPL.

Incidentally, it was also Harbhajan’s third major win in a tournament final under the captaincy of MS Dhoni as he had previously won the World T20 Championship in 2007 and the 2011 World Cup. After calling Wankhede home for all these years, it was kind of ironic for Bhajji to win the title with a different team at the very same ground.

And now he has taken to Twitter to express his love for the ground. He tweeted a picture of himself with Dhoni and the IPL trophy with a brilliant caption:

Harbhajan Singh was not seen as a regular starter for the Chennai side but he managed to play 13 out of the 16 games in the season. He took 7 wickets with an economy of 8.48 with best figures of 2/22 against RCB. With the bat, he was not as effective as he played only a couple of innings with his most notable outing being sent in at No.5 against KXIP in the last game of the group stage where he scored 19 runs.

Having played with him for so long, Dhoni knew the strengths of the veteran and he could have been arguably more effective had CSK played in the turning tracks of their Chepauk home ground. But it was not to be because of the Cauvery protests.

He still proved to be a wily customer with his flighted off-breaks though he was slightly on the expensive side in terms of runs given because the Pune pitch, CSK’s adopted home ground did not aid him too much.
