The sky is the limit now for Rafael Nadal. As Rafa equaled Roger Federer‘s Grand Slam tally of 20, there are a few more Grand Slam records that are up for grabs. Although Nadal is extremely happy with his achievements, a few more records would elevate the Spaniard’s already illustrious career.

In a recent interview with Las Provincias, former Spanish players Guillermo Lopez and Juan Ferrero discussed whether Nadal could add a few more Grand Slams and get closer to Roy Emerson’s record of 28 Slams.

“With Rafa it is difficult to get the numbers right. He has no ceiling at Roland Garros, he has no rivals and as long as he remains physically at his current level, he will have options, in this and other tournaments. I see it complicated, but with Nadal it is very difficult to predict,” Ferrero said (quotes have been translated).

Which Grand Slam record could Rafael Nadal capture next?

In terms of Grand Slam tally, Nadal ranks joint first in men’s singles. But taking into account all the other categories, both Federer and Nadal stand way back on the list. Veteran player Roy Emerson holds the record for most Grand Slams won by a male player with 28. Emerson has 12 singles and 16 doubles Grand Slam titles to his name.

Guillermo Lopez emphasized on Rafa Nadal’s recent record-extending French Open win. Lopez expects Nadal to continue his record at the French Open and add a few more majors to his name.
