HILARIOUS: Referee Takes Selfie with Kaka after Showing him a Yellow Card

Hailing from Sao Paulo, Kaka is undoubtedly among the best football players of his generation. Kaka’s popularity was just reiterated when a referee wanted to take a selfie while officiating a charity match.

Kaka was playing for Brazil against Israel in a match that was being played to promote peace. He was found guilty of pulling an opponent’s shirt during the match. The officiating referee ran towards him a showed a yellow card, and was later trying to take something out of her pocket, much to the suspense of the players around. But it all became a little funny when she took out her phone from the pocket and asked Kaka for a selfie, which the Brazilian gleefully agreed. The atmosphere seemed to become a lot lighter when other players approached the referee after her selfie moment.

The referee wanting to take a selfie with the star shouldn’t be surprising but asking for it during a match should. After all, Kaka is a Ballon d’Or winner and one of the most popular players of his generation. He was paid the second highest transfer fee by Real Madrid at that time. In his career, Kaka has been named in the FIFA World XI and the UEFA Team of the year thrice and he is also member of the AC Milan Hall of Fame.

His popularity is undeniable considering the fact that he was the first sportsperson to amass  10 million followers on Twitter, and a referee wanting to make the most of her opportunity after getting so close to him might also be justified.

Among the other legends taking part in the game were Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Cafu and Bebeto.
