“I Don’t Know How Roger Federer Does it With Four Children” – Novak Djokovic

World Number two, Novak Djokovic talked about the balance between tennis and family. He finds it difficult to manage two of them and whereas Roger Federer takes care of four. 

“I understand that I have to be healthy and schedule well and Roger was talking about the family; I don’t know how he does it with four children, I struggle with two. It’s a hell of an effort,” the Serbian legend shared.

“But we all love tennis and dedicate ourselves, our lives and of course to this sport. But at the same time, it has to be balanced with off-court stuff, and children and family and we have to have the support of close ones in order to actually have a chance and have a go for year-end No. 1,” he added.

The five-time ATP World Tour Finals champion, Novak Djokovic feels that winning a Grand Slam and concluding the year-end as a World Number one tennis player are reputable achievements of the sport.

With a 640-point trail from the World Number one spot, Novak needs to reach the finals of ATP World Tour Finals 2019 to establish himself on the ATP’s crest. Provided the World Number one, Rafael Nadal underperforms.

“I think it’s probably in my personal opinion one of the two biggest achievements that you can have as a professional competitive tennis player, winning a Grand Slam and being No. 1 of the world at the end of the season. At this stage of my career obviously in terms of goals and achievements, obviously that’s right at the top,” Djokovic said.

If Djokovic gets on top, the Serb will be the first player (amongst the active ones) to conclude the year as World Number one for the sixth time. Novak will be tying the ‘year-end World Number one’ record with the American legend, Pete Sampras, who previously did it six times.

At ATP World Tour Finals 2019, Novak Djokovic will open against the debutant, Matteo Berrettini and they will be playing each other for the very first time in their careers.
