The 2008 Wimbledon final is regarded as one of the best matches ever played. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal headlined the final. The match had everything. From long halts to extended emotions, the final kept everybody at the edge of their seats.
It was a special moment for Nadal. Every player wants to win at the historic Centre Court at Wimbledon. And Nadal lost consecutive finals at Wimbledon in 2006 and 2007 to Roger Federer so he had to take the revenge.

“It was a personal goal to win the Wimbledon” – Rafael Nadal
In a recent interview with BBC, Nadal spoke about Wimbledon and the charisma around it. He also spoke about the three finals and how in 2008 he finally achieved Wimbledon Glory.
“Wimbledon for everybody is special. When I was a kid most of the time I saw Sampras winning. For me, it was a personal goal.” Nadal said

Rafa used his experience in the 2006 and 2007 finals to win the 2008 Wimbledon final. He was slowly getting there and finally broke Federer’s Wimbledon code.
“Well, I think 2006 I went to that final without believing in victory. 2007 was a completely different story. I felt ready to compete and I was there. I lost the 5th and I had my chances. In 2008 I was playing great I came into the final with the feeling that I was not the favorite but I was ready to win. And I never stopped believing in victory. I had some tough moments, especially in the fourth set.” Nadal said

“Of Course, I was very nervous. I think everybody was nervous. The only thing that stays on my mind is I feel myself falling down and just screaming.” he said
Nadal won another Wimbledon title in 2010. It had been his goal to win the Wimbledon title. 2008 final was certainly a ride and it will be stitched in every tennis fan’s mind forever.
