Stefanos Tsitsipas recently had a talk with former tennis player Barbara Schett. In the talk, she asked him which matches he would play again. Stefanos replied by saying,

“The match against Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open where I got chopped up. I would pick it because I was a different player then, I am more experienced now and I will carry that experience with me next time. I may not win but I will definitely put up a fight.”

This answer is something every tennis fan would have expected because it was Stefanos’ worst defeat. It was at the 2019 Australian Open where he faced Rafael Nadal. He lost 6-2 6-4 6-0 which is something nobody expected from him.

The Greek star, however, did manage to get his revenge by beating Nadal at the 2019 Madrid Open in 3 sets. While it may not have been a dominating victory, he did play some amazing tennis to beat him. And he will want to win again as Rafa won the next 2 meetings.

He is probably waiting for their next meeting so that he can get his revenge. Unfortunately, he will have to wait for a long time as the ATP Tour has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is scheduled to return in August assuming that the virus is contained by then.

With the many countries developing a vaccine, it should be. And we can then see another meeting between Stefanos and Rafa which is something tennis fans will look forward to. Hopefully, this time, it is the Greek Star who comes out on top.
