If you were told at the end of last season that Golden State Warriors would manage to win only one of the first six games in the 2019/20 season, you would have a hard time believing it. But as things stand, that is how it has been so far for the Warriors after their loss against Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.

While their off season trades were one of the reasons to make their team weaker, the injury list that has been mounting since the start of pre-season. It all started with Klay Thompson, who might come back at the end of the season at best. The latest injury was that of Draymond Green ahead of the game against Hornets, after Stephen Curry in the previous game.

With so many injuries, the Warriors starting line up was a little odd to look at. Especially after so many years of getting used to seeing the names of superstars and All-stars before every Warriors game.

On Sunday, Warriors were in fact leading for a major part of the game. But a little lapse towards the end led them to their fourth loss of the season so far.

Coach Steve Kerr took the blame on himself after the game. “I take responsibility for that one,” he said as per Nick Friedell of ESPN. Very pleased with his team’s effort. I feel so bad for them. I could have done a better job down the stretch.”

“It was a really positive step, but you’ve got to get some wins, too,” he further said. “I wish I could have done a better job down the stretch to help them out, but that’s the way it goes.”

However, one of the major positives emerging for them was rookie Eric Paschall, who made good use of the opportunity he got. In 35 minutes, he finished with 25 points, four rebounds and two assists. Paschall, 22, established his presence early with a couple of strong drives to the basket.
