The coronavirus is spreading rapidly. It has infected over 2.5 million people around the world and over 130,000 people in the United Kingdom. This is what caused Andy Murray to wonder whether he has also been infected by the virus. He said,

“I was a little bit sick for two or three days about four weeks ago. So actually, before the beginning of when the quarantine started, I was sort of isolating for probably four or five days before that.”

Since he was sick a few weeks ago, it is likely that Andy Murray did not contract the virus. But he can never know for sure because he did not get tested. He explained why he did this. He said,

“Most people I’ve spoken to have had some sort of symptoms and felt a little bit sick, but it’s quite difficult to know whether you have actually had the virus or not. And obviously, the test should be saved for people that are in severe situations and the frontline NHS workers in this country.”

Andy Murray has a point here. There are more people who require this test but no one should take risks by not getting tested. I am sure Andy is monitoring his health so that he does not contract the virus.

Contracting the virus will ruin Andy Murray’s comeback plans even further. He wants to be the player he was in 2016 and win some grand slams when the ATP tour resumes. Hopefully, he will do just that.
