ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 New Zealand Schedule

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is scheduled to be played from May 30 to July 14 in England and Wales. The 10 teams are busy in building up there best team to conquer the most desirous title in the world of cricket.

The runners-up of the ICC World Cup 2015, New Zealand will be aiming for a better result in this edition of the World Cup. The Kiwis choose to select an experience 15-member squad. However, the inclusion of the newcomer Tom Blundell’s as a backup wicketkeeper was the only surprise selection in the squad.

The black caps will hope to remove their label as bold losers and claim their first title at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. New Zealand has never won the world cup but has been impressive several times at the biggest stage of cricket. They have reached the semi-finals of ICC World Cup six times. The side also suffered a heavy defeat against Australia in the 2015 edition of the World Cup.

The Kiwis haven’t been in the best of the forms lately. They lost the T20 series against Pakistan in late 2018. However, the ODI series was tied following the T20 series. They were quite impressive against Sri Lanka as they won all the three ODIs in the series, earlier in 2019 season. However, the India tour of New Zealand was the biggest test for the Kiwis before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. New Zealand disappointed being the host team as they lost the 4-1 in the 5-match ODI series.

New Zealand, under the captaincy of Kane Williamson, will face Sri Lanka in their opening game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
