ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Organisers Go All Out for Broadcast Coverage

The organisers of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 are sparing no expense this year. This is especially true for the event’s coverage. The Cricket World Cup is a tournament of a very grand scale and is being treated as such.

According to Aarti Dabas, Head of Media Rights, Broadcast and Digital, “I am excited to welcome such a talented team of broadcasters to ICC TV, they will bring to life the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for more than a billion fans around the world.

“Our focus for this event has been on bringing fans closer to cricket than ever before and our comprehensive host broadcast plan delivers this. Fans can enjoy unique insights from our commentators supplemented by unprecedented analytics focus making this the most engaging World Cup broadcast production to date.”

In other words, it is not just the fans at the stadiums, being brought closer to the action, even the viewers at home are being ensured of the best coverage possible.

All this is possible due to ICC TV, who will produce live coverage of all 48 matches across 46 days. The ICC is also providing full live coverage of all ten warm-up matches as well. This will be the first time that the warm up matches will be broadcast for the viewers’ enjoyment.

Enhancements include a minimum of 32 cameras present at every game. Among them will be eight ultra-motion Hawk-Eye cameras, front and reverse view stump cameras and Spidercam.

In addition to that, in a first for the Cricket World Cup, broadcast will also include 360° replays. All this will be provided by Piero sports graphics systems and it can link multiple camera feeds together. This can aid commentators and analysts in providing in-depth analysis of big moments in the game.

Other improvements include Player Tracking, Hawk-Eye and other such visual tools. These aids will be further complemented by the analytics app CricViz. CricViz helps fans and analysts, via an in-depth cricket data analytics system.

Finally, drone cameras, courtesy Batcam, is set to awe the viewers with visuals of all English and Welsh venues. Finally, there will also be a Buggy Cam to provide a ground level view of the matches.

In conclusion, it certainly looks like the organisers will stop at nothing to ensure that anyone watching the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will have access to the best seats in the house
