India have faced an unexpected defeat in the semi-final of ICC World Cup against New Zealand where they lost by 18 wickets. New Zealand will now face the hosts England in the finals at Lord’s on July 14. As India’s win was expected, the majority of the tickets were purchased by the Indians which left none for other cricket fans. Although Jimmy Neesham asked Indian fans to resell their tickets of final.

Despite India have knocked out, Indian fans have decided to watch the final between England vs New Zealand. This made the insufficiency of tickets for supporters of England and New Zealand. Both the teams whoever win, will be their first World Cup. Although New Zealand have reached final in the last edition as well, England have reached after 27 years.

Many expected that Indian fans would have sold their tickets. However, there is a twist. Instead of reselling the final tickets through the official ICC website, fans have sold the tickets through StubHub and Viagogo, where tickets are being sold for more than £16,000 — that’s Rs 13.8 lakh — which is more than 50 times of their original value.

In this situation, New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham has asked Indian fans to resell their tickets at the original prices through the official platform so that the fans could enjoy the final. He took to Twitter and shared this.

“Dear Indian cricket fans. If you don’t want to come to the final anymore then please be kind and resell your tickets via the official platform. I know it’s tempting to try to make a large profit but please give all genuine cricket fans a chance to go, not just the wealthy,” he wrote.
