Jair Rozenstruik picked up an impressive victory against Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night. In the process, he claimed his position in the heavyweight division. He picked up a clinical knockout in the last few seconds of the fifth round, which left Overeem absolutely battered and bruised. In the process, Overeem suffered a gruesome injury that left his upper lip detached. And the former title contender had to go through plastic surgery. Rozenstruik is currently undefeated in his MMA career and is a promising fighter for the UFC heavyweight championship.

However, UFC has already shown their interest in a Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier trilogy for the UFC heavyweight championship. On an incredible note, Cormier knocked out Miocic at UFC 226 to win the UFC gold. However, Miocic redeemed the loss when he knocked out Daniel Cormier at UFC 241 to reclaim the title. In the process, Miocic established himself as one of the greatest heavyweight mixed martial artists of all time.

Both the fighters will fight each other inside the octagon, later this year. Interestingly enough, Rozenstruik stands out as the next top guy to challenge for the championship belt. Rozenstruik knocked out former champion Andrei Arlovski at UFC 244 and followed it up with a scintillating knock out Overeem. He has looked brilliant in all his fights. And with a career, that boasts of 10 wins and no losses, with nine knockouts, it speaks highly of the heavyweight fighter.

“If he beats Francis Ngannou, I think it’s a no-brainer he needs to be next for the title,” Kawa said. “We know we’re still waiting for the whole Stipe-DC thing to get figured out if that fight ever happens, eventually it does. If Jair beats Francis, who skips him? Just give me a name.”

In a conversation with MMA Junkie, Kawa feels that a win over Francis Ngannou will put him in a title match against the winner of Cormier and Miocic. And rightfully so, both the heavyweight fighters have been brilliant inside the octagon in their last few appearances.
