India have registered a convincing win over Bangladesh in the first-ever day-night Test which was played with a pink ball. Indian captain Virat Kohli once again showed his class and smashed a century. However, he failed to convert it in a double-century as Bangladesh’s speedster Ebadat Hossain dismissed him. After that, he was seen celebrating the way West Indies bowler Sheldon Cottrell used to do in the ICC World Cup earlier this year.

Virat Kohli got dismissed for 136 when he flicked the ball to the leg-side where a stunning catch by concussion substitute Taijul Islam on boundary line was the reason for his dismissal. His stunner grabbed a lot of attention on Day 2 of the second Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

However, the Test gained a lot of attention from the people. Virat Kohli thinks the longer format of the game needs marketing like ODIs and T20s.

“I think it’s very, very crucial to market Test cricket like we do for ODIs and T20Is. It’s not only the job of the players but it spreads out to the management the cricket Board and the home broadcasters about how you portray a particular product to the people,” Kohli said at the post-match press conference.

“If you create an excitement only around the T20 cricket and not much around Test cricket then in the psyche of the fans there’s already a certain template that’s established,” he added.

However, the captain shared that felt like smashing the ball the way he does in IPL games.

“Luckily, I went in when the lights were on, so I didn’t have to go through that transition, but I think that will be another challenge in future as well. But he under lights, it was a different experience. When I walked out, it felt like an IPL game atmosphere so you feel like smashing the first ball, but you have to remind yourself that you know you have to play compact,” he concluded.
