India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant once again fell to impress with the bat during the ongoing 3rd T20I against South Africa at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. It seemed that the youngster has not learned from his previous mistakes, as he was dismissed on a loose delivery by Bjorn Fortuin for a 20-ball 19. India lost the game where they chose to bat first, winning the toss to check the batting depth.

Rishabh Pant came to bat when India were 63 for 2 in 7.2 overs. Captain Virat Kohli was at the other end. The stage was set for him to show some responsibility but he decided to go after the delivery with a loft over long-off. He failed to reach for it and managed a straight hit to Phehlukwayo, who grabbed it with ease.

In the previous encounter, Pant had dismissed for his poor shot selection as he hit the ball straight to Tabraiz Shamsi, regardless of having all the time to play a better shot.

Pant has so far played in 11 Tests, 12 ODIs and 19 T20Is and it is expected that he reads the situation well and doesn’t go after careless shots. Unfortunately, he has been facing criticism for his poor shot selection. Earlier Head Coach Ravi Shastri also criticised his careless batting and said his batting let the team down.

Although he got support from Gautam Gambhir and other former players, MSK Prasad said that they are keeping an eye to other wicket-keeper batsmen like Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, KS Bharat etc. He thought that might suppress the workload of Rishabh Pant.

South African bowlers bowled pretty well and restricted the star-studded Indian batting order within 134 for 9 at the end of their 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was the only Indian batsman who timed the ball well, the rest of the batsmen fell to score big.

However, fans across the world expressed their frustration and trolled the youngster for his continuous batting failure for in the ongoing series.
