WATCH: Wriddhiman Saha Takes a Flying Catch to Dismiss Mahmudullah

India’s wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha held onto the ball with his fingers to complete a stunning catch against Bangladesh in the historic test match.

Winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh found themselves in all sorts of troubles in with the Indian pacers running through their batting lineup.

It started with Ishant Sharma becoming the first India bowler to claim an international  wicket with the pink ball, when he dismissed the Imrul Kayes.

It was of Ishant’s bowling that Saha claimed managed the flying catch. In the 20th over, by the time which Bangladesh had already lost half the side, Ishant Sharma bowled a ball just around the off stump. It took the outside edge of the Mahmudullah’s bat and went in the direction of Virat Kohli, who was standing at first slip. The ball, however would not have carried to Kohli. Saha came to the ball at full stretch and managed to hold onto it almost with his fingertips.

With the catch, Saha completed 101 dismissals in Test match cricket. A few over before the wicket, he had recorded his 100th dismissal, becoming the fifth Indian wicket-keeper to do so.

This was the second sensational catch of the session after Rohit Sharma caught one in the slips to dismiss Mominul Haque.

By the end of the session, Bangladesh were left struggling at 73 for six. Indian seamers once again ran through the Bangladesh lineup, with Umesh Yadav picking up three wickets.
