Thousands of fans went into huge disappointment as the first T20 match of the India vs Sri Lanka series was called-off without a ball being bowled.

Huge expectations revolved around the match since its announcement, as it was the first match at the Barsapara cricket stadium, Guwhati since 2010.

Things like hairdryers and vacuum cleaner were spotted drying the pitch. But two damp spots remained on either side of the pitch.

Eventually, after three hours of delay, the match was officially abandoned.
