Australian pacer Pat Cummins bags in Rs 15.50 crore in the IPL 2020 Auction in Kolkata on Thursday. Kolkata Knight Riders outbid Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore to snap the right-handed strike bowler, making him the most expensive foreign player in the history of IPL.

IPL 2020 Auction: What Happened in the Pat Cummins Bidding War?
Cummins performance in IPL
Cummins has represented the Knight Riders in the past, playing four games for the franchise between the 2014 and 2015 seasons. In all, he has taken 17 wickets from 16 IPL games at an economy of 8.29. Pat Cummins was also the highest wicket-taker for Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) in 2017, taking 15 wickets in the season. In T20 Internationals, however, the 26-year-old’s economy drops to a very measly 6.78.

Other big buys in IPL 2020 Auction
Cummins’ compatriot Glenn Maxwell, with the base price of Rs. 2 crores, was sold to Kings XI Punjab for a whopping Rs. 10.75 crores. While South Africa’s Chris Morris with the base price of Rs 1.5 crores, was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10 crores, England’s Sam Curran was sold to Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 5.5 crores.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals bought Chris Woakes for 1.5 crores while Aaron Finch, with the base price of Rs 1 crore, was sold to RCB for Rs 4.4 crore.
