The last time Roger Federer played a Wimbledon final, he had two consecutive championships points. It was the final of 2019 Wimbledon, a match that still haunts Federer because he failed to convert both his chances and suffered a heartbreaking loss to Novak Djokovic.

In fact, over the last 12 months, Federer has only played two matches on the tour. Subsequently, after the 2020 Australian Open, Federer underwent two surgeries on his right knee, which kept him out of action for more than a year.

With Federer turning age 40 this year and his body unable to withstand the grueling demands of the tour, the 2021 Wimbledon seems likes Federer’s last chance to win another Major.
