But certain players have expressed their worries regarding the prospect. Kyle Edmund is one of those concerned athletes. He advised the US Open to take enough precautions to avoid complications in the future.

Kyle Edmund wants US Open to be safe

Edmund is eager to play the US Open. But he also wants the tennis authorities to adhere to strict protocols in an attempt to prevent the outbreak of the deadly disease into the players.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Edmund said, “I’m a tennis player and I want to compete but it has to be safe and the protocols need to be realistic and strict at the same time, otherwise it could get messy, I want to play the US Open and I’m planning to play it. I’ve spoken to both my coaches and we’re aiming for that. We will see how much things change in seven or eight weeks so you never know how it’s going to be then, but as long as it’s safe by then, I’m more than up for going and playing for sure.”
