Not sure if it can be called a rematch, but Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez will certainly step into the octagon again to face each other. This time there will be animosity between the two fighters unlike in the first fight.

Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez fought each other in the main event of UFC Mexico. The fight was ended by the officials since Jeremy Stephens was unable to compete after Rodriguez glazed his eyes with an unintentional eye poke. However, Yair Rodriguez believes that Jeremy Stephens took the easy way out and he should have continued to fight. And that’s how the rivalry started between these two featherweights.

“I am gonna kill this kid. If he does not die it does not count.”

Jeremy Stephens is looking to knock Rodriguez out. He believes Rodriguez does not deal with pressure very well and can not present any trouble when the knock out power is considered. Stephens claimed:

“These guys beat me in close decisions. These guys are fighting f*****g scared. This is not gonna be that type of fight. He ain’t gonna have any room to breathe. Yair folds under pressure and he is gonna get a lot of it. At any moment I can put him out. I can take his best shot and I can eat them. But he can’t take one.”

Although Jeremy Stephens would have preferred a 5 round fight against Yair Rodriguez, he believes he can get the job done in 3 as well when he says:- “On paper, it looks like 5 round is in my favor. He gases. he doesn’t like to push that pace. 3 round kind of benefits him obviously. But that’s not gonna be the case. I am here to prove a lot of doubters, a lot of haters wrong and do what I do best which is be a savage human highlight reel I am.”

Although Jeremy Stephens fights Yair Rodriguez in the co-main event of UFC Boston, due to the animosity and history between these two, this fight is going to get a lot of attention for sure.
