Since his return, Jones has defended his title against Gustafsson, and Anthony Johnson pretty easily. Although he did face some adversities against Santos he got the W in the end. At one point there were no challengers for his title. UFC light heavyweight division had become mundane until a few exciting talent popped up who are potential threat to Jon Jones’ title and Johnny Walker sits right on the top of that list.

Many believe that Johnny Walker is the one who is going to dethrone Jon Jones at light heavyweight. However, Walker needs to overcome the toughest test in his MMA career yet, Corey Anderson in UFC 244. Ranked no 7, Corey Anderson has some impressive wins in his UFC career so far and is a strong contender for the title.

Corey Anderson has solid wrestling based on which he has been able to win many fights in his career so far. Hence he is a threat to Walker on the ground. But the sensational, Johnny Walker is not afraid to take the fight to the ground against Anderson. When asked about how would he deal with the takedown attempts of Anderson, Walker not only claimed to stop the takedowns but also claimed to take Anderson down. Walker claimed:

“He can not take me down. I am ready. I will take him down. MMA. I fight MMA. I don’t fight Mui Thai or boxing. I am an MMA fighter. I will take him down, I have Jiu-Jitsu, everything. Let’s play whatever he wants my friend.”

Well it would be hard to make an argument for Johnny Walker to fight for the title even if he gets past Corey Anderson. However, if he goes out there and knocks out Anderson in a devastating fashion like he has done in his last three fights, he will surely put the champion, Jon Jones on notice.
