Tony Ferguson made an interesting and unexpected call out recently and this time it was not Khabib Nurmagomedov. Out of nowhere, the former lightweight interim champion called out Jon Jones for all the “Sh*t Talk”

Tony Ferguson said:

“Lot of Shit Talk Jon Jones. You Wanna Play Again Like We Did In College? I Bumped Up Two Weight Classes & I’ll Do It Again Growth. You Wanna Play Chess I’ll Be Your Huckleberry. Got You In 2 Neanderthal, Talked To Your Pops He Knows Who’s Champ.”

Fans were shocked with this call out since they did not know what to make out of it. Did Tony Ferguson try to imply that he crossed paths with Jones back in the days and got the better of him? Or was it one of those crazy and funny things Ferguson does? Well, he did say to Daniel Cormier on live TV that he would ankle pick him, so it might be a friendly jab at Jones from the former interim lightweight champion.

However, just as the fans are, Jones is equally confused with Ferguson’s recent remarks. Answering whether he ever fought or wrestled Ferguson in college, Jon Jones said:

“Lol no, that’s why this is all really confusing to me. Last time I spoke to Tony we were texting each other about possibly training sometime. It’s probably just a publicity stunt.”

Jones is clueless, to say the least with Ferguson calling him out. “Wait, when did this beef start!? I thought we were cool!!! You Over there feeling suicidal Tony?” responded Jon Jones.

However, there is no beef between Jones and Ferguson as Jones deleted above tweet and apologized.

It’s safe to say at this point that fans have to wait for Tony Ferguson to clear the air on this one. It will be intriguing to see how Tony Ferguson responds to Jon Jones.

While Jon Jones is likely to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title, Jon Jones is likely to defend his light-heavyweight title early next year. There are also speculations of Jones moving up to heavyweight to fight the winner of Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic.
