This year has been a melancholic tennis season for the 2009 US Open Champion, Del Potro. He just played seven matches before the French Open 2019, and in Paris, Del Potro displayed some phenomenal tennis and later got himself injured in the very next tournament.

Also, during the Rome Masters 2019, he encountered two match points against the World Number one, Novak Djokovic, but the Serb outplayed Del Potro in their quarterfinal clash in Italy. Despite being the reigning finalist at US Open 2019, due to his on-going recovery, Del Potro couldn’t step on to the Flushing Meadows terrain this year.
