Jurgen Klopp started his managerial career at Mainz 05, the club he retired as a player. The German side was at that time playing in the second tier. However they found themselves finishing 11th in the Bundesliga under the German’s only third full season at the helm. He then made a coveted move to Borussia Dortmund which has earned him two Bundesliga titles.

Since 2015, he has been at Anfield and turned himself from a promising prospect to a managerial genius. While his trophy cabinet at Liverpool just has two showpieces, one of them is the most prestigious trophy in club football.

However, neutral fans would have liked him to move on to a new challenge and a new chapter at the end of his contract. Although it doesn’t really matter, wherever he stays, Jurgen Klopp would always be regarded as a genius. Is he the best? Can’t claim that till Pep Guardiola really drops down. Though till then, let’s settle for, “He’s arguably the best”.
