Laver Cup 2021 Tickets: Why Are They So Expensive?

Laver Cup is one of the most interesting and unique competitions on the tours. The tournament is played between two teams, Team Europe and Team World. Notably, a majority of the top players on the men’s Tour compete against each other in a round-robin-styled tournament.
As we talk about the Laver Cup, there is another unique aspect of the tournament, the ticketing prices. The cost of the ticket in the first session on an opening day is approximately $75 for a basic one. There are some tickets that go up to approximately $7600. The ticket prices are higher than the Grand Slam events because the concept of the Laver Cup is totally different.

The Laver Cup is a unique event on the Tour
The atmosphere at the Cup differs completely from the Grand Slams and that’s one of the main reasons fans like attending this event. It is a mixture of seriousness and players engaging in banter. But, as the top players in the game are part of this event, the quality of tennis is still of the highest level.
Another reason the tickets are costly is because they offer floor seats, something that no event on the Tour offers fans. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience as fans can engage in a meet and greet with players.

Roger Federer’s management firm, Team 8, organize and manage the tournament. It’s also associated with some of the biggest companies, such as Rolex and Mercedes. Sadly, this will be the first season in which none of the big three, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal, will feature.

Who will feature this year?
The competition begins on the 24th of September and will end on the 26th of September. It is a three-day event taking place in Boston. In Team World, we have Félix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Diego Schwartzman, Reilly Opelka, John Isner, and Nick Kyrgios.

On the other hand, in Team Europe, we have Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Matteo Berrettini, Andrey Rublev, and Casper Ruud. Whenever they have played in the past, they have entertained fans to a whole different level. This year promises to be no different. It will be interesting to see who emerges as the winning team.
