With Anthony Martial likely to leave Manchester United, the Red Devils are on the market for a replacement. The Frenchman has been offered a lifeline though, in the form of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. However, Mourinho, being the crafty businessman that he is, won’t let Martial go that easily. It is likely that United will demand Robert Lewandowski as part of the deal to let Anthony Martial move to Germany.

At the same time, Martial is eager to move away from Old Trafford. Especially after a falling out with United boss Jose Mourinho. Recently, Martial took an extended leave to attend the birth of his son.

It is said that United are hoping to sell the Frenchman for at least £70million. However, Bayern are not willing to spend more than £50m. Poland’s Lewandowski is also in a similar situation with Bayern Munich and looks like he too will exit. Now, sources say that United are itching to try and sign the striker.

According to a source, “Bayern are still keen and United have been after Lewandowski for a long time and want him.

“His agent is close to Jose and United and he is keeping them both in the loop along with Real Madrid.

“This is all down to whether he wants to go and Bayern are happy for him to leave. It’s up in the air.

Bayern boss Niko Kovac has rubbished any reports that Lewandowski could be leaving the club. However, even if he wishes to leave, the final decision lies with them and they certainly do not want to let him go. He insists that Robert is contracted with them but he isn’t sure for how long but he will stay there for as long as possible.
