Lewis Hamilton is probably best known for his travails on the track and recently won his 6th world championship. This has earned him a reputation as one of the best drivers in Formula One. However, he does have a few hobbies away from the circuit, namely a fashion line.

In fact, the Mercedes driver has developed a close relationship with the brand, Tommy Hilfiger. The two have often collaborated with high-profile figures like Gigi Hadid and Zendaya. It is also noteworthy that the designer releases various looks with the driver who often showcases them. Recently, the duo unveiled their third collaboration, and the reigning champion admitted that clothes with substance go way beyond fashion.

The third Tommy x Lewis collection broke cover at the Milan Fashion Week, blending the preppy American vibe with Hamilton’s contemporary streetwear style. The 34-year-old British driver wished to emphasize comfort in the design process, using materials that feel as good as they look.

In character with Hamilton’s drive to go vegan, season 3 placed heavy emphasis on sustainability. The driver and the designer have collaborated to create a timeless sportswear collection, which they ultimately hope will bring people together.

Speaking to Esquire in an interview, Lewis Hamilton said, “I think I strive for perfection in everything—learning and discovering all the possibilities. I owe thanks to Tommy for allowing me to become part of his family. Going to lots of fashion events, I built up a love for the fashion circus. Tommy and I met many times, particularly at his shows, but also at the Met Gala. Tommy was so supportive and he was always saying, ‘You know, we should do something together.’ He’s such a positive person; he could have chosen anybody to be a part of this company that he has built.”

Lewis Hamilton also has his own label and was named GQ’s ‘Man of the Year’ in Sports in 2019.
