Los Angeles Lakers had all the doubts if superstar LeBron James would feature in the all important game againt local rivals Clippers. On Christmas eve, it was reported that LeBron was expected to play, and he did play.

However, as the game went on, he did not look at his usual best as his team eventually lost the game. After the 106-111 loss, Lebron James revealed that he had injured himself once again very early into the game. He said that it was a clash with Pat Beverley that re-injured his groin.

“I felt healthy going into the game. The second or third defensive possession, I got kneed in the groin taking a charge from Pat Beverley. That kind of sent me back to where I was five days ago,” James said as per Ben Golliver of Washington Post.

In spite of aggravating his injury early in the match, LeBron James managed to play 39 minutes where he almost came out with another triple double. He ended with 23 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds on the night.

Anthony Davis also played 39 minutes for the Lakers and registered 24 points, three assists and six rebounds. However, Lakers’ biggest issue in the recent times has been finding a scorer outside of their All-Star duo. In that respect, Lakers would be happy for Kyle Kuzma, who looked sharp coming off the bench and scoring team-high 25 points in the 27 minutes that he played.

The Lakers have been exposed in the last few games, with Wednesday’s loss being their fourth consecutive one. They are still on top of the Western Conference, but will be looking to reassess themselves and get back to winning ways. Frank Vogel will have more worries with LeBron James now injured once again. As things look, James should recover quickly and get back in the scheme of things.
