Dallas Mavericks sensation Luka Doncic came out with another noteworthy performance on Sunday against Houston Rockets.

Doncic was drafted before the last season with the third overall pick by Dallas Mavericks. It now seems surprising to know that a few teams passed on without picking Doncic for various reasons. After giving decent returns in the first season, his game as well as the team’s overall performance has picked up in his second season.

Talking after Sunday’s exceptional win over the Rockets, Doncic jokingly said that their squad does not have Dirk Nowitzki this season in defense which is making it easier for them.

“Very much confident this year,” he said as per a video obtained from Tim McMohan of ESPN. “Last year, we had Dirk (Nowitzki) in defense, so it was tough.”

“I am kidding,” he continued. “Everybody just cover for each other, play the game the right way.”

Doncic returned 41 point in the game as Mavericks beat the Rockets 137-123. Only a few days back, he registered a triple double within 25 minutes against the Warriors. His dream moment came earlier this season when he faced his childhood hero LeBeron James and registered a triple double. Although he was outscored by James and his team lost the game, it would be a game that he would remember.

After the game, James had also offered rich praise for Doncic saying, “For me, playing the game the right way, getting my team-mates involved and playing for the purity of the game, I was able to inspire a kid that wasn’t even in America. That’s pretty special.”

“We now see what he is capable of doing – his ability to make plays, not only for himself but for his team-mates, his rebounding, playing for the pure love of the game. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.”
