Maple Leafs Centre Auston Matthews could Face upto Six Months in Prison

Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews got into trouble off the football pitch as he was charged for disorderly conduct in Scottsdale. He was allegedly attempting to enter a woman’s car and then drop his pants while walking away back in May.

A report was filed in Scottsdale, a copy of which was obtained by The Star. According to the report, Matthews, drunk along with his friends attempted to enter the car of Fayola- a military vet.

“(She) jumped out of her vehicle to find out who was trying to get in her car … and noticed it was Auston and his friends,” the police report read. “She confronted them and the response from Auston was they wanted to see what she would do and they believed it would be funny to see how she would respond. Fayola found this very disturbing and put her on edge.

“Fayola said she’d told Auston and his friends, ‘I am a female, I am a military vet with sever (sic) PTSD.’ She also told them it wasn’t funny and how could they think it would be funny to try and get in a female’s vehicle at 2 a.m. in the morning.”

“She continued to say that Auston would say that he thought it was funny. Fayola said she then began to tell them to just leave.”

A friend of Matthews tried to talk her into not reporting the matter, when Matthews pulled down his pants, further deteriorating their case.

“As the friend was speaking to Fayola, she said Auston began to walk away and after he walked some distance, Auston pulled his pants down, bent over and grabbed his butt cheeks,” the report said.

The Maple Leafs released a statement admitting to the charges on their centre, but refrained to comment further.

“The Toronto Maple Leafs are aware of the complaint of disturbing the peace against forward Auston Matthews, the statement read. “Auston is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities but neither he nor the Club will comment any further out of respect for the process involved.”

According to multiple sources, Matthews, who was expected to captain his side, could face upto six months in prison and face a penalty if found guilty.
