Also in the 2019 season Mick Schumacher got a promotion into Formula 2, which is a step behind F1. When he was signed by the Ferrari Drivers Academy, nostalgia dreamed of a reunion between the Schumacher and Ferrari name. Especially since his father, Michael Schumacher ascended to a legendary status in the span of a decade.

The last time the Schumacher and Vettel names were spoken in the same sentence was in 2007. Michael Schumacher teamed up with Sebastian Vettel, nicknamed Baby Schumi at the time. The two were competing for Germany for the first time at the annual Race of Champions event.

Twelve years later, the team was reunited, but this time, it was Vettel acting as the senior. The 4-time world champions drove alongside Michael’s son, Mick Schumacher. So, it wasn’t long before the two began to exchange notes.
